Let’s beat the February blahs with a Challenge!!

A while ago I wrote about the 7 strategies for carving out me time. As a recap, here they are: (see the article for more details)

1. Schedule it in.

2. Find an activity you enjoy that’s relaxing.

3. Wake up earlier.

4. Make yourself accountable.

5. Start small.

6. Learn how to say no.

7. Delegate and get others to help.

As I discussed, it’s often difficult to make time for ourselves and bump us up on the priority list.

I continually struggle with this but have recently been better! It started over the Christmas break. I went to my public library and took out some books. I love reading but hadn’t really done much of it in the past few years.

Well, I rekindled my love of reading and quickly finished off my books! After the break when I went back to work I decided to keep reading every day and that I would do 30 minutes a day (using the principle of #5 – starting small).

It’s worked! With the exception of a day or two, I’ve been reading 30 minute every day this month! Because 30 min isn’t that long, it hasn’t been hard to find that time in my day. I have new (borrowed) books that keep my interest and I look forward to reading each day.

This got me thinking about putting out a challenge. For the month of February, choose something for YOU that you can do 30 minutes a day. It can relate to improving your physical, mental, emotional or spiritual health.

Here are some examples:

You get the idea, right? Now choose ONE thing you can do each day for 30 minutes that is relaxing and good for the soul.

Let’s see how many people we can get participating!! If you are up for the challenge, save the image below (right click, save as) and share it on Facebook or Pinterest and invite your friends to join in! Comment below so I know who’s participating (or tag me on Facebook @FitHealthy365)

YOUR TURN: What’s the one activity you’re going to do for 30 minutes in February? I’m going continue with reading so I can really establish it as a habit. Share yours in the comments so we can support each other!
